The Comparison Of Two Title Sequences

Comparison of the title sequence from Grease and the title sequence from American Horror Sequence

Grease

- The genre of Grease is a musical, this is conveyed through the use of non diegetic soundtrack which appears to be upbeat and extremely positive. The genre is also suggested to us through the use of font that is visible as comic, as if its got a logo to it. Moreover the style is animation, with a large use of character drawings again connoting it to be a fun, upbeat film. When the characters names appear on the screen they are introduced with the character the actors playing using the word 'As' this highlights a performance, musical, or show vibe.
- The tone is also established as being upbeat, happy and fun. As well as again using character drawings and the retro old school, 1960's look in order to establish this.
- Their is a wide range of key titles which appear, such as the title, the starring roles, choreographer, director, producer etc.
- It is clear this film is set in the USA  in the 1960's, we know this, due to the clear use of iconic time period imagery as well as through the use of costume and props. Such as Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Mad Magazine, Playboy, Thunderbird by Four. Moreover there is an add of importance placed upon the high school setting, this is highlighted when theres a fade from animation to real life when the title sequence is ending with the scene commencing.
- We are given a clear idea of what the narrative will consist of. It is suggested to be about high school, teenagers, strong suggestions towards romance (Boy and girl shown after one another conveying they'll end up together.) There is a suggestion of romance from the juxtaposition of a male and female character.
- There are several characters introduced, such as 'Danny' who's shown as being lazy, vein, careless and a rebellion. It's implied he's a main or even 'the' main character we know this due to him being the one whom creates the Grease logo in the sequence drawing our attention to him. In addition the character 'Sandy' who's a female character thats underlined as being wealthy, feminine, kind and loving. There was also a variety of animals such as birds, similar to the animals in 'Snow white', this gave sandy a 'Snow white' feel to the character due to Snow white being released in the 1950's so viewers had a strong association.

American Horror Story

- The genre throughout 'American Horror story' s opening sequence is conveyed in a variety of ways, such as the soundtrack appearing to be disturbing, as well as placing a variety of creepy sound effects together to create an unsettling tone highlighting the 'horror'. Moreover theres a large use of iconic horror imagery such as skulls, blood and knives, whilst also having the font appear gothic. Most obviously, the genre is made clear through the use of title.
- Tone is used within this sequence hugely by the placement and overlapping of sound-effects, creating an unsettling, dark tone.
- To an extent we are given idea's of the time period and location. It is implied the clips are taken in the basement of a house. Theres  a sense of modern mixed with old generating an idea of being past and present. The film is likely to be set in America; 'American Horror Story'.
- There is not much given of the narrative although
the tone, location and mood helps to establish a haunted house vibe.
- There are no characters properly introduced, although theres an idea given of there being a killer or killers. This is highlighted through the POV shot of someone searching with a flashlight showing discovery and uncovering the unknown. Additionally,
theres a camera shot showing a white dress connoting female innocence and stereotypically being a victims again underlining a theme of death and murder.

To conclude, it is clear that both 'American Horror Story' and 'Grease' are very good and successful at establishing genre as well as giving us a clear understanding of what the film might entail. However in my opinion I believe 'American Horror Story's' opening sequence is of a greater success due to leaving the viewer with more questions and personally by leaving me with these questions i want to watch on. Although 'Grease' is very successful and unique in the way the opening sequence is carried out I dont think that there needs to be such a large bit of information given in just the opening scene alone. 'American Horror Story's' opening not only leaves us with questions but also makes us feel slightly on edge which reflections the right emotions that should be being perceived due to the genre being 'Horror'.

Research Into An Western Opening Sequence

Looking into the opening scene of the Western  film The Wild Bunch

'The Wild Bunch' is  a 1969 Western film, which was directed by Sam Peckinpah. The production company which produced the film was Warner Brothers-seven Arts. ' The Wild Bunch'  stars William Holden, Ernest Borgnine and Robert Ryan.

It would be right to believe that William Holden is in fact the main character due go him being the only character introduced in the scene, and actually stopping the scene and freezing the video into an image in order to highlight William and introduce him. We also led to believe this due to from the establishing shot at the very beginning, is lead straight into a close-up of William Holden. He is introduced as being rather important, we firstly see their swimmers low angle shot on the children looking up at  him respectfully establishing him as being of a higher status. This is then followed with two other cowboys whom are dressed in similar uniform stopping whilst William and his fellow cowboys pass on horses and the two men salute with respect.

All the narration we get from this clip, is that the Cowboys are coming back into texas from somewhere. They seem to be respected by those around them. They arrive at South Texas admissions office where when entering William vocalises 'if they move kill them'. We do not receive a lot from this opening scene yeah we do understand and made clear genre, that being Western. We know this due to the scene including a variety of westerns the genre key conventions. It it is quite clear that the men are in fact the Cowboys we know this tutor costumes, all dressed in dark carkey with matching shirts and, hats and bottoms while riding horses. This is also confirmed, As we know Cowboys can be rather aggressive and this is shown when entering that the admissions office and a close-up is carried out of Williams face while you vocalises 'if they Move Kill them'. There is also it rather order serious tone, it is clear that the Cowboys mean business we don't have time to mess about And don't have time to mess about, indicated through the choice of soundtrack. The non diuegetic purposful low key soundtrack helps to portray a sense of importance of William and his fellow men.

Additionally, through watching these first few minutes I would assume that this film is more popular among older audience. Due to being set in older times and being all the less high-quality. Therefore Younger adults as well as children maybe less interested due to them being used to modern films and the modern time that surrounds them. It is also implied that the film would be rated at least 15+ due to using language that may not be suitable for younger children and referring to death, most likely there is death carried out throughout.

Personally I didn't enjoy this opening scene, due to not being keen on Western films. However if you are someone who enjoys this genre then perhaps this is for you. There is a great use of setting, and uses all the areas of mise en scène in order to create a clear picture and the viewers eyes.

Research Into a Horror Opening Sequence

Looking into the horror sequence 'Scream'

Scream is a horror film which was released in 1996. 'Scream' was produced by Dimension films and directed by Wes Craven. The film stars David Arguette, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Mathew Lillard and Rose McGowan Skeet.

From these first four opening minutes, we get given a clear idea of the narrative. We see a girl getting a call from a number whom she assumes must have dialled the wrong person. They keep calling her exclaiming the just Wanna talk, which she just finds a little funny and talks back. After ending the call several times the person is still calling she answers, and he accidentally slips out the line 'i wanna know who i am looking at'. Here she starts to get frightened. We know something is wrong when he changes his tone and starts screaming threats down the phone. We know he's playing a game and is in fact somewhere surrounding her. By placing us with this strong clear narrative it allows us to imagine unexpected things from the little information we have  been told. I'm convinced that the story will follow her fear and horror due to him creeping his way into her home and attempting to hurt her. The film may capture the lead up to her death or maybe the depths she has to go in order to avoid it.
Although I believe this film Will be more intriguing towards a younger more thrill-seeking audience. I think that would've been put as an 18+ as you can see the film developing to be more intense and brutal. There maybe some scenes that are not visually all maybe even audibly okay for a teenager or child under the age of 18.

Furthermore, it's made abundantly clear that i truth it is a horror. this is seen from the moment the title appears on ones screen. Before the scene starts the title 'scream' is presented on the screen from being stretched from the top and bottom of the screen into the centre. The title first appears in white and then when slams Centre it appears red. This foreshadows that Something dark or even deadly is to come. This is also supported by the  non diegetic sound-effect of a phone ringing merging into the sound of a scream. This again appears to the audience as maybe foreshadowing something that maybe to come.
It is ironic as well as extremely powerful that the scene starts with a phone call, the phone call enables the viewer to become more on edge and engaged due to the opening implying the phone call is going to end in a 'Scream'. Although clear the genre as horror throughout the entirety of this extract, another example is when talking to the man about horror films on the phone the girl calls out the cutting knife innocently while fiddling, this yet again may for-shadow what is to come.

Moreover, there are a variety of key conventions explored and used within this scene. Such as alienation,  fear of the unknown, suspense, Fear, vulnerability. The girl is alone the house portraying her to appear more vulnerable. Suspense is built whilst the phone call goes on. It's suggested and seems like there is use of a hand held camera, In order to follow her around the house this may mimic the fact that she is being watched and her every move is being seen. There's a great use of close-ups on the individuals face, I believe that this helps to show her facial expressions as the scene is unfolded.

We are introduced to 2 characters, one being only audibly. It is clear that the one who appears audibly through the phone call is in fact the 'bad guy' or 'evil'. It is clear it is a he, we know this through the masculine unsettling voice. It is clear that something is up with him due to him asking a great Number questions just to keep on the call. We also know that he is in fact outside or even in her house when he elopes with the line 'i want to know what im looking at'. It's also confirmed he is playing a game and is dangerous. We know this by the diegetic dialogue of him saying ' you hang up on me ill cut you like a fish, you understand ?' this is when it's confirmed he is threatening and she is unsafe.
We are told quite alot about the girl she is seen to be a kind hearted, forgiving girl. We know this due to her politeness and giggles when replying to the man on the phone. Through her costume she also appears to be a clean, organised, feminine girl. Her surfaces of her kitchen also appear to be extremely cleaned with all rooms being un cluttered and organised. There is a point of view shot of her turning her porch light on and looking out which confirms she knows something is wrong and here starts to appear frustrated.

To conclude, i believe this is a successful opening scene although gives away a lot of the storyline. I think that the director could have chose to giveaway less in order to leave the viewer with more questions keeping them hooked. Although other than this I believe the characters introduced and explored effectively as well as the genre and tone being established clearly as horror and attending an intense and  frightening.

Research Into An Opening War sequence

Looking into the opening sequence of the War film of Greyhound

Greyhound is an American war film which was released on the 10th of July 2020, and was directed by Aaron Schneider. Greyhound stars the well known, successful actor Tom Hanks.

Within the first few minutes of this scene, parts of the narrative are successfully revealed to the viewer. Greyhound performs this information differently to what we may expect. In order to set the scene while the studio sign and opening occurs there is a voice-over of what appears to be the sound of the news exclaiming 'how world War has come upon us' and talking about how the 'American merchant ships must be free to carry American goods.' There is also mention to how nearly '300 lives have been lost in the unrelating struggles for which goes online day.' All this information confirms to the viewer that the film is about war and the struggles of getting goods to the people. After more text elopes onto the screen, over what is seen to be war on the sea there is a fade to black which then takes us to the rough sea in Liverpool England, where 37 troop and supply ships have been escorted by 4 light warships, then were introduced to the first character whom is praying. From this I believe the rest of the narrative Will be to do with the struggles of war and maybe to do with this ship called the Greyhound, this is connoted due to the title of the film 'Greyhound' being placed over the ship in this opening scene.

There is not much dialogue among the first scene, we only meet to one character whom we assume is the main character due to being the only person we are introduced too. It is made clear that the character is at war helping his country, and is currently in Liverpool England. We get the impression that he is in some ways scared for his life or for what is to come, this impression is put in place when he vocalises a prayer and prays that 'the evil film will have no power over him.' Then gets up and walks towards the camera until
he is placed centre and close up is seen of him washing his face and then starring straight at the camera with a look of exhaustion creeping over him. This could foreshadow him cleansing himself from the deaths he may have to be apart off in this stream of deadly war.

Moreover, it is made abundantly clear that the genre is in fact War. There is also a clear intense, worrying, fearful tone. This is clear through the use of  sound, editing and camera. From the moment the film commences we know that that it is definitely about war due to the first line being ' the catastrophe of world war has fallen upon us'. Then visually the film starts in the clouds where the camera zooms in through the clouds ( probably done using a drone ) until passing a smaller war plane - a light aircraft. then a birds eye viewer shot of boats lined up in lines below, this again confirms war has commenced. We then hear the voiceover 'full speed ahead' which is followed with some loud, fierce harsh non diegetic sound track which creates an intense, severe atmosphere. Lastly when the camera is placed on the man there is a non diegetic soundtrack of a more gentle,  yet unsettling and in some way upsetting music whilst the man is praying connoting he's inner emotions. There is also a sound effect of something shaking while the ship moves (metal sounding) may mimic his feelings. When cutting from scene to scene there is a great use of the
sea in order to transition smoothly from one scene to another, this helps mimic the on going fearfulness of war.
Consequently, from watching this opening extract i am convinced it is a 12 + due to the genre being war, it is most definitely to violence for any child of a younger age. I believe its important that nobody of a younger age views the film as it has been proven that if a child views aggressive behaviour they could in-fact copy it. It could be also argued if adhering to the stereotype this film is aimed at and more popular among men due to stereotypically  by containing violence and war this may appear more appealing to them.

I do believe this is an exceptionally creative and successful opening scene due to telling us about the story in a way thats different to the everyday film ( they used both voiceover and text instead of just having character dialogue).  However i do suppose the director could have chosen to tell us a bit more about the character or maybe introduced us to somebody else in order for us to get a clearer idea of what we are in for, and delegating us to understand.

Research Into A Drama Opening Sequence

Looking into the opening sequence of the Drama 'The fault in our Stars'

'The fault in our stars is the 2014 American coming of age Drama which is also seen to be a romantic comedy which is directed by Josh Boone. The film stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.

From the opening sequence alone we get a glimpse into the narrative. It is clear to be about a girl suffering from terminal cancer and the things which come with it; that being mental illnesses like depression. She is convinced to go to a therapy group as the doctor believes this will help her after her mum exclaimed to the doctor she's certain she's suffering from depression.  From what we are given from just the first few minutes of this movie it connotes an idea to us about what the rest of the film will be about and allows the viewer to decide whether this is the sort of movie they would enjoy from just watching the first 3 minutes. I expect that the rest of the film will follow this individuals journey; that being the good and bad, maybe even her recovery. She may learn to enjoy the life she has left and cherish every last moment. Moreover its implied the film could also contain her falling in love due to the title of the film.

Moreover, stereotypically its led to believe the targeted audience would be Woman. Due to it being a Romantic, drama. Of course it will appeal to a wider range of people but if we are adhering to the stereotype woman may enjoy more due to it appearing to be a more vulnerable, emotion full film, whilst also containing glimpse of romance and comedy.

This opening scene makes it clear that the genre is in fact a Drama, as well in some glances comedic. The tone in this very scene is both slightly upsetting and touching, but also slightly humorous. There is a great use of the key Drama genre conventions. An example being the character doing a voice over throughout the majority of the scene, this both helped to give the viewer key information as well as setting the mood and atmosphere to be slightly down hearted, however it does not stay like this due to bringing in comedy to allow the scene to seem less despairing.  A line in which i believe truly set the tone of the film and allowed us to in-vision how the character was feeling during the voiceover was when she vocalised the diegetic dialogue - ' depression is not a side effect of cancer, its a side effect of dying. Which is whats happening to me.' Personally i believe this line alone gave a strong insight into whats to come that being the time before she dies and maybe her overcoming her fear and hatred towards death, or on a happier note maybe her becoming stronger and conquering the cancer. There is also use of the convention of using music to underscore the drama. This is towards the begging, there is a subtle, quiet non diegetic soundtrack which undermines her isolation and loneliness from the world. This is also underlined when her eye focus changes from her book at the cafe, to the couple at the till. Highlighting she wants to fall in love, live a normal life. She does not want to live every day questioning if its her last!

Furthermore, It is made clear from this extract that the girl suffering from terminal cancer is in fact the main character, we know this due to her being in nearly the entirety of the screen time and the scene being designed in a way which focuses on her story. There is a-lot of closeups which focus on her facial expressions alone as well as her being the only character carrying out a voiceover. The  non diegetic voiceover acts as an inner monologue and enables us to get to know her better as a character and explore her emotions and feelings further. The second character whom is briefly introduced to us is the guy who runs the therapy group, Patrick. They use both voiceover and a montage in order to introduce this character creatively. By the girl exclaiming Patrick in a slightly humorous way appears effectively and impressively,
as although being a sensitive topic the scene still manages to creep a laugh out the viewer. Consequently by  these several seconds,  we already know a handful of information about Patrick; that being he 'had ball cancer and nearly died but he didn't die, so is know homeless, divorced and living on his parents couch. He now follows Jesus and trys to show people that maybe someday 'they can be just as lucky as him'. This is ironic and appears funny due to his life actually seeming a little miserable and weird

I believe this scene is hugely successful due to it not only giving the viewers an insight to the film as a whole, but also emotionally engaging them in away that they will feel connected making them feel they must watch on. I think it is important and was well structured that they added parts of comedy in, as in addition to appearing to a broader audience it also helps enable tears to be held back to later parts in the
film.

Research Into An Opening Action Sequence

Looking Into the opening action sequence of Spectre

Spector is an action film directed by Sam Mendes and produced by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Spectre is a 2015 spy film, which is twenty fourth in the James Bond series, The studios which worked together to produce the film was Eon Productions for Metro-Goldwyn Mayor and Columbia pictures. James Bond is star'd by Daniel Craig.

It is made clear in just this short opening scene that it is in fact an action film, and the scene contains an intense, extreme tone. There is also use of the key conventions of an action film. It is established that the character (James Bond) whom the clip starts on is in fact the hero. This is seen from when he first is shown on the move walking along the edge of the top of the building. The camera follows his movement through a tracking shot as well as a birds eye view tracking shot, this on its own helps to establish the fact he is a major character or maybe even the main character due to the first minute of the scene just focusing on his confident, purposeful walk. It is also confirmed that he is most likely the hero due to when theres the zoom in slowly on the window where you see three men passing round hats and something that seems awfully suspicious, they are speaking another language which makes it seem more suspicious due to the rest of the scene being in English. Highlighting that they may be talking about something they don't want anyone knowing about. The convention of a huge power divide between the hero and villain, however here it is not how you'd expect. Due to James bond being on his own yet managing to kill at-least 2 of them, this helps engage the viewer due to it subverting their expectations.

There is only one character properly introduced that being 'James Bond'. I believe this is done extremely well due to their being no proper use of diegetic dialogue but only non diegetic soundtracks. A lot is told to us through the use of this non diegetic dialogue by Bond, by using an intense, powerful sound track. When James Bond enters we get the idea that he is confident, willing and in control. In contrast when Bond loses the man he was chasing the upbeat carnival music commences portraying he is in a less stable condition. He is also shown to be the main character through the use of mise-en-scene, he has been placed in a black suit and bow tie. When approaching the carnival this enabled him to stand out more due to no one having worn the same shade nor being dressed so smartly. He is almost always captured in away that he's in the centre of the screen.

Moreover, i believe this film is aimed at a slightly older audience  (15)  due to not being suitable for children because of the action and language. We know this from the opening scene due to death already being highlighted as a theme and violence being a huge aspect of the film. This scene does not appear to be the most simplest thing to understand, due to characters speaking different languages, more advanced vocabulary and being shown a-lot more visually than through dialogue. Therefore, younger teenagers and children will most definitely get confused and may imitate the violent behaviour portrayed to them.

The narrative given to us from this beginning scene is that James Bond is on a mission to kill some people as well as retrieve their information, and it connotes that they're doing something suspicious. It is made clear that Bond feels he cannot let the guy get away.  We expect that the rest of the film will explain why Bond was after these guys and what they were exactly doing as-well as following his crazy out of this world missions.
I do believe that this opening scene is successful as it helps immediately engage the audience due to the suspenseful atmosphere and gives a slight hint to what the film is about, as well as giving us a good insight to the character Bond. Furthermore, the non diegetic soundtrack (where the scene first commences) has a minor key spunding to it with a string bass beat. The sounds being in the minor key foreshadows the immense deaths that are yet to come as the film progresses, due to the association between minor key and sadness.

Research Into A Sci-fi Opening Sequence

Looking into the opening Sci-fi sequence of E.T

E.T is the American, Sci-fi 1982 film which was directed by Steven Speilburg and produced by universal pictures. The film stars Dee Wallace, Henry Thomas, drew barrymore, Robert MacNaughton and Peter Coyote.

Although there is no dialogue throughout the entirety of the first scene, we are made clear of the narration so far. What we witness and know is that a spaceship with some living things that are not human has landed in what looks like a forest. Humans arrive and start investigating in which the spaceship takes off leaving some of their fellow companions behind. From this it is implied that the rest of the film will be to do with these creatures that landed in our earth and maybe to do with the humans discovering the ones left behind.

The genre is extremely clear to be science-fiction this is highlighted through the use of conventions. There a several Key conventions used, these including- Space travel and exploration. This is seen from the very beginning when there is a pan shot of the spaceship Lost in the woods, there is then the use of the convention of aliens, extratraterrestrial lifeforms and muwtans. Although I'm not sure of what these creatures are we see figures of  unhumanlike living things emerging from the spaceship. It is also confirmed that there is something unnatural living with the close-ups of the unusual disturbing looking hands with the long treacherous fingers. By starting the scene with a pan shot of the woods, it already gives an unsettling eerie feel and tone. This tone is supported through the use of CGI. CGI truly highlights the science fiction genre due to creating things that are simply just not our world, and too difficult to do in real life.

There is no characters introduced directly due to being no diegetic dialogue, the only sound we heard from the creatures is a screechy unsettling high-pitched sound which connotes them to be alien like creatures. Were shown the figure of these creatures, they were seen to be small and unhuman like something never seen before. Other than this is we were given no indication of who they were or why they were there.

Additionally, there is a great use of mise- en-scene. By placing the setting of the scene At night helps to create this eerie un real atmosphere as well as creating a disturbing yet exciting mood. The director also used lighting as a way to highlight these figures without Giving too much of their appearance away. At certain points there was a red light which eloped from them this could convey they to be evil or underline  danger. The director chose to have each human holding a torch to indicate they are on lookout and this is
out of the ordinary.

In conclusion I believe this is successful opening due to a leaving the viewer with so many questions unanswered, leading them to want to watch on discover the unknown.

Research Into A Thriller Opening Sequence

Looking into the opening thriller sequence of 'Seven'

Seven is a 1995 'American neo-noir psychological crime Thriller' which was directed by David Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker.  Seven was made by the production company  Arnold Kopelson Productions and distributed by New line Cinema. The film star'd Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey.

Throughout the first few minutes of this Sequence it is made clear that the Genre is in fact Thriller, as well as portraying an intense,  un-easy, graphic tone. This is highlighted in a numerous of ways, one being the close up, pan shot of a dead body which is seen with deep red blood surrounding it, this connotes that death is a key theme throughout the film due to it already being introduced so early on. By containing an image so graphic at the beginning of this film emphasises that the film is aimed at an older, mature audience whom enjoy dark mystery. Moreover the genre Thriller is made abundantly clear due to highlighting as well as implying the film will be focusing on solving a mystery which is unfolding. The genre and tone is also exclaimed and spotlighted through the introduction to the two characters we are presented to.

Furthermore, We are introduced to two characters, firstly the character Sommerset, whom is presented to be a neat, calm man who is straight to the point. This is seen from where the scene first commences through the use of mise-en-scene. The scene opens with a closeup of Summerset's ironed suit that is layed down neatly on his smartly tucked bed, he picks a piece of what seems like fluff of the suit, this connotes him to be an organised and neat individual. Following this there is a closeup pan shot of the dead body, which is followed by a tracking shot of Sommerset walking through what is implied to be the hallway of where a murder scene took place. By having Sommerset walking calmly and confidently with both hands in his pockets and a still intrigued facial expressions again implies he knows what he's doing,  connotes he is some sort of detective. Which is confirmed to us through his interaction with the other man about the murder case. Sommerset is dressed in typical detective clothing, as well as asking a-lot of questions about the case which confirms his role to us as the viewer and gives us a clear insight of what this film is going to be about. Through just the opening few minutes we are also introduced to a second character 'detective Mills', we know that he has just moved to town and he's established as being an extremely confident character. We know this due to the diegetic dialogue of Sommerset questioning 'why here' this connotes that the setting/town where they are working may not be a very nice area. This is highlighted through the exit from the building where the murder took place. Both detectives do not seem fazed by the dead body following them out the building; suggesting their used to this and have probably been in this area of work for years.

Following this there is a fairly clear narrative given to us as the viewer within just these first opening minutes. We know that the film will be to do with mystery and it is made clear of the genre and introduces us to what seems like the main characters, through just this alone i believe the viewer will know wether they wish to keep watching and wether this is their 'thing'. From these first opening minutes i believe that the film will most probably be to do with the crime in this town and these detectives trying to figure out whom is behind it. I also believe the relationship between Mills and Sommerset progressing as colleagues will be explored further and that they'll most likely face these cases together.

When the camera is on Sommerset alone, it's usually rather steady and slow movements i believe this is to mimic and convey him to be a calm stable character. I also believe by the long tracking shot of where Sommerset and Mills are talking this mirrors the fact that they are busy men with a job to do, implies to us as the viewers that the film will be gripping with something going on constantly. This is also highlighted through the use of cuts when going from one angle to the next there is a cut yet not being fast and intense they do still capture the sense of busyness.

I believe this is an extremely opening scene due to doing everything the viewer can ask from it, sets the genre clearly as a thriller, introduces what is spotlighted as two major characters and gives us a-lot of information by introducing them in depth through diegetic dialogue. Moreover it gives us a clear picture of the setting and what the film has to include.

OUR FINISHED OPENING TITLE SEQUENCE
